The United Filipino Organization has launched a fundraising drive on behalf of the family of a Philippine national who recently died of breast cancer.

In a statement, UFO sought the community’s support by donating any amount and dropping it at designated donation boxes.

UFO said it will only endorse donations at designated dropbox locations and other organizations. A family representative listed will be the sole contact for each donations box and the only representative allowed to pick up the boxes.

Jeanette Vistan Capayas, 48, was originally from Bulacan, the Philippines and left behind three children and a husband. Her son, Jonathan an upcoming senior at Marianas High School, said their mother’s death is a tragedy for the family.

“She had a really hard time breathing already. I guess her organs were already failing,” he said.

Jonathan Capayas said his mother was admitted to the hospital a week before her demise and doctors had to administer morphine to soothe her pain.

Nightly rosaries are being held at the San Antonio Church with the help of the Sto. Niño Group and those interested in attending may contact family representatives for more details.

Donation to the Capayas family can be dropped off at the following locations: LBC Chalan Laulau and Garapan, Rustan’s FOREX in Chalan Kanoa, RNV FOREX Remittance in Garapan, APEX Remitance in Chalan Kanoa, and D’ Elegance Restaurant in Garapan.

People or companies hoping to donate can also call UFO president Marlon Regaton at 788-9358 or Capayas’ husband, Rolly, at 783-1967.
