Patak Patak tops Saturday Night League

Patak Patak won the closely fought 59th Philippine Bowling Association-Budweiser Saturday Night League.

At the conclusion of the 16-week competition late last month, Patak Patak ended up with a 44-20 win-loss record—just a victory ahead of RR & Associates (43-21) and three wins up over IT&E 4G LTE (41-23). Saipan Bowling Center/J’s Restaurant finished fourth with its 40-24, followed by Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan (37-27), JETS (27-37), and Youth Bowlers (18-46).

The champion team is made up of Joe Sablan, Raul Dumapit, Darwin Gonzalez, Danny Macaspac, Arnel Ibarreta, and Dannie Robles. Allan Hernandez led RR& Associates and was joined on the squad by Roger Vales, Donato Besid, Mel Regis, Ron Cal, Mario Batu, Ding Ordones, Romy Gueverra, and Eric Rabang. IT&E 4G LTE, on the other hand, had Ariel Dumapit, Bernard Paraiso, Jorge Soledad, Richard Leong, Ramir De Leon, Jojo and Lynn Santos, and Roland Epan on its roster.

With its hard-earned victory, Patak Patak received the championship trophy and $550 cash. RR & Associates and IT&E 4G LTE also went home with trophies and $300 and $150 cash prizes, respectively, while SBC/J’s Restaurant pocketed the $70 consolation prize.

Meanwhile, Fiesta Resort and IT&E 4G LTE split the four other team awards in the Saturday Night League.

Fiesta Resort prevailed in the team scratch game and team handicap game. It totaled 972 in the scratch game to beat the 929 of Patak Patak and 922 of SBC/J’s Restaurant. In the handicap game, Fiesta Resort collected 1,086, just two pins ahead of SBC/J’s Restaurant (1,084), while Patak Patak was ranked third with its 1,077.

In the scratch series, IT&E 4G LTE’s 2,699 surpassed Fiesta Resort’s total (2,681) and SBC/J’s Restaurant’s (2,675). IT&E 4G LTE also had a good lead in the handicap series with its 3,152 defeating the 3,072 of Fiesta Resort and Spa and 3,065 of SBC/J’s Restaurant’s. Additional cash prizes were also given to the Top 2 finishers in the four categories.
