TAMUNING, Guam—The office of Senator Dennis G. Rodriguez, Jr., is once again pleased to announce that the 7th Annual Guam Senior Citizens’ Hall of Fame and Married Couple Recognition celebration will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2018.

Nominations are officially open for the program. Nominees for the Hall of Fame must be 65 years or older and married couples must be married 60 years or longer.

The Guam Senior Citizens’ Hall of Fame was initiated to celebrate the great lifetime achievements of our beloved island man’amko. Their impacts and contributions to our island home are immense and are worthy of a celebration to remember their legacies as our island pioneers.

This annual celebration of the Guam Senior Citizens’ Hall of Fame and Married Couple program is one of Sen. Rodriguez and his wife Lena’s initiatives to honor and celebrate our islands’ man’amko. It is the only program that recognizes an exceptional senior citizen and couples who have been married for 60 years and over. As a tradition and policy set by the senator, no government funds are being expended for the celebration.

“Our man’amko are the pillars of our island. They have helped shape the specialness of Guam. We all have a special man’amko that has made a positive impact in our lives, and this celebration is a perfect opportunity to recognize and honor them,” Rodriguez stated.

Nominations are now being accepted and will end at 5pm on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018.

For nomination forms or more information, please contact the office of Rodriguez at 649-8638/0511 or visit www.toduguam.com, click on Hall of Fame poster link. (PR)
