Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang reached a major milestone in his life and celebrated it with the entire community through a campaign fundraiser.

Last Saturday, 700 members of the community gathered to celebrate Apatang’s 70th birthday during his campaign fundraiser event at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.

The event was grand to say the least with the event completely closing out PIC’s Magellan and Charley’s Cabaret.

According to Apatang, he was amazed by the event’s turnout and could not believe how many people showed up to support him and his candidacy.

“It’s very well. There are a lot of people tonight… I just want to thank all my supporters who showed up tonight and for everyone who contributed to make this event possible,” he said.

Apatang’s birthday fundraiser was able to raise over $30,000 that will go to funding his re-election campaign.

According to Apatang’s campaign committee chair Oscar Babauta, Apatang and his crew have worked tirelessly for the Saipan community by constantly cleaning and maintaining the entire island.

During Apatang’s birthday campaign, all of his children and siblings joined him during his brief remarks to sing him Happy Birthday that was the highlight of the celebration.

The event was also participated by CNMI dignitaries from the Republican Party who wanted to show their support for Apatang’s re-election.

Apatang is running under the GOP for Saipan mayor and will be going up against Ramon Blas Camacho who is running for Saipan mayor as an independent.
