Youth Summer Camp at San Isidro kicks off

The Carolinian Affairs Office and the Division of Youth services kicked off their Youth Summer Camp at the San Isidro Youth Learning Center yesterday.

It’s the third Youth Summer Camp the two agencies conducted this summer.

The camp is for children ages between 6 and 12 and is held daily, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-11:30am.

Last week Tuesday, a Carolinian conference conducted a presentation about the Summer Youth Camp at the Legislature and discussed how the event would further promote the heritage of the CNMI’s indigenous people.

After their first successful Youth Summer camps last month at the Carolinian Utt and Kagman Community Center, CAO and DYS remain optimistic for their next Youth Summer Camp beginning this week.

The children will be participating in local activities such as dancing, weaving, food preparation, mwaar, beads, and salt making, and much more.

To register or for more information, call CAO at 234-6384/5 or the Division of Youth Services 664-2550/2562. (Fahim Uddin)
