UOG hosts STEM & Sustainability EXPO tomorrow
Come one, come all! Visit the University of Guam on Friday, July 6, 2018 for the STEM, & Sustainability EXPO. Learn about exciting marine and environmental science topics and sustainable practices.
Over 20 high school and undergraduate students will facilitate this interactive expo, providing information on coral reefs, marine critters, and backyard gardens. The students are part of a National Science Foundation-funded programs, Inclusion Across the Nation of Communities of Learners of Underrepresented Discoverers in Engineering and Science (INCLUDES) and the Guam Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (Guam EPSCoR).
“This will be the first sustainability expo hosted by our NSF INCLUDES students. We’re excited to provide an avenue for the students to practice science communication and community outreach –both skills are absolutely crucial for a career in science,” shared UOG Sustainability Coordinator Philip Cruz.
The STEM & Sustainability EXPO will take place from 12pm to 2pm in the atrium of the Jesus & Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business and Public Administration Building located on the UOG campus. The event is free and open to the public. (PR)
