CNMI AHEC to host 2018 Health Summer Program

The Northern Marianas College, Community Development Institute, through the CNMI Area Health Education Center, is sponsoring a health program for youth this summer. Students who are interested in health careers will be introduced through activities and lessons in Nursing, Rehabilitation & Human Services, Science and Math. The program will also feature presentations on CPR & Basic First Aid, Nutrition, and Mental Health. The overall goal is to familiarize students about health careers in the CNMI.
To qualify for the program, students must be entering into the 11th or 12th grade and must be interested in pursuing health careers. The deadline to enroll in the 2018 Health Summer Program is 4pm, Thursday, July 12, 2018. Seating is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The CNMI AHEC will sponsor this program for those who are residents of the CNMI (i.e. United States citizens and U.S. Green Card holders). Students must provide a valid, government-issued ID (i.e. birth certificate, passport, driver’s license, etc.) for verification upon registration.
The 2018 Health Summer Program will run as follows:
• July 16-July 27 (Monday through Friday) from 8am to 12pm.
• July 28 (Saturday), July 30-Aug. 3 (Monday through Friday) from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
