Three young Commonwealth talents have organized a concert this Saturday to raise funds for the upcoming World Championships of Performing Arts competition that they will be attending.

Erica Tubera, Lawrence Tubera, and Cire Durano are all gearing up for the competition of a lifetime this July that will be held in Long Beach, California.

For these young talents, the greatest struggle is funding to make it to where their dreams lie so they are asking for the help of the community.

Not only is this concert intended to raise money for the team’s daily expenses but to also give their supporters a great show, according to Erica Tubera, “mainly to give back to those who have been supporting us since the beginning, especially our families, friends, and the government.

“We also want to showcase the talents that we will bring to Long Beach,” she added.

The fundraising event will be held this Saturday, June 30, at the Hard Rock Café, from 6pm to 9pm, with an entrance fee of $25.

Erica Tubera is also looking for sponsors for the event.

The concert will highlight the performances of the Tubera siblings and Durano and will also feature Justin Tubera, Erma Tubera, Maggie Naputi, Neil Fama, Saipan Music and Dance Studio, Demalynn Pagarao, and Hopwood’s 7-Nation Band.

According to Erica Tubera, in the process of conducting a background check on her, the World Championships of Performing Arts also discovered her brother and her boyfriend.

“A few months ago, I saw an ad online about the World Championships of Performing Arts. I decided to go and register. A few days later, I got an email from the recruiter who asked more about me. She looked through my YouTube channel and my social media accounts there and found my brother, Lawrence, and also Cire. She did more of her research and she told me that she wanted them to join, too, but she will have to show our profiles to the agents to see if we meet the criteria to join this competition,” she said.

Tubera added that the competition would feature talents from 60 countries around the world.

“They showcase their talents in singing, dancing, acting…and other…performing arts. This competition will be held in Long Beach, California from July 6 to 15, but we will fly and arrive there on July 4 to get over jet lag,” she said.

The trio has already gained some financial support from the Commonwealth government as well as friends and family members.
