Thank you and congratulations!
On behalf of the Tinian Track & Field Team, we would like to thank the Tinian Mayor’s Office, Tinian Municipal Council, and the Tinian legislative delegation for providing the funds that allowed us to participate in the recently concluded Micronesia Area Championships.
We are also thankful to the Northern Marianas Athletics for all the assistance they provided. NMA was the perfect host. They deserve an A-plus and made it a first-class event. We have to congratulate Team Guam on their outstanding performances; they were head and shoulders above everyone else. Their 40 gold medals haul might be a new record.
I would like to congratulate Zarinanae Sapong on keeping her title as Micronesia’s fastest woman and Traven Quitugua, NMI’s fastest man, on becoming Micronesia›s second fastest teenager. Zarinanae beat Guam›s fastest girl; not many NMI athletes can say they beat Guam›s best. Good job, guys! I would give a C-minus on the rest of our performances. The main excuse was the track was only recently resurfaced and there was not enough time to practice on it.
We must thank Ray Tebuteb for getting everyone together to put on a great show. The Tinian team is requesting that Mr. Tebuteb resubmit a hosting bid so we can run it back.
