The Small Business Committee of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Island Training Solutions hosted a two-part “Management Boot Camp” training seminar geared to teach managers, team leaders, and aspiring line workers the essential skills to lead others in the workplace.
Part 1 was held last May 24 from 9am to 12pm and Part 2 was held last June 21 from 9am to 12pm. Due to the overwhelming interest, the Chamber offered afternoon sessions from 1:30pm to 4:30pm to accommodate additional participants for both workshops. Part 1 successfully filled with 76 registered participants and 72 for Part 2.
Jim Arenovski of Island Training Solutions provided the participants with useful tips and information valuable to their business. Participants learned tips on how to amplify strengths in each team member to maximize productivity and success, how to empower and motivate others, and how to manage diversity in the workplace. Participants also engaged in activities on how to communicate effectively, assert leadership, and identify and manage problems using a step-by-step process. One attendee stated, “Jim’s presentation was very entertaining and informative. Jim made sure to interact with the participants by using real life examples which made the training easily relatable.”
Light refreshments included an assortment of sandwiches, brownies, coffee, tea and water. Certificates, informational handouts, and themed giveaways were presented to each attendee.
