An intoxicated female driver reportedly caused a collision between two vehicles that ended up with her car flipped on its side along Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Tanapag last June 15.

No one sustained significant injuries during the accident that happened during daytime, police said.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Jacqueline Rae Shepard told Saipan Tribune last Friday that a 48-year-old woman, who was the driver of a red sedan, complained of pain and was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center, where she was treated and released.

Shepard said police officers did a sobriety test at the scene and later drew blood for alcohol analysis.

The female driver was later arrested and booked at the Department of Corrections, charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Police investigation showed that the woman was driving her red sedan on the highway when it collided with a red pickup truck.

The collision caused the red sedan to flip on its side.

A passersby’s video of the flipped car surrounded by bystanders was posted on social media.
