Car said to have hit Horey in Guam
CNMI lawyer Joseph Horey sustained serious injuries but is now in stable condition after being reportedly hit by a car as he was walking toward a mall on Ypao Road in Guam last Sunday night.
Lawyer Michael Dotts confirmed the news yesterday with Saipan Tribune.
Guam news quoted Guam Fire Department spokesman Kevin Reilly as describing the victim only as an elderly man, who was taken to the Guam Memorial Hospital.
When medics responded to the scene, the victim was unresponsive and had serious injuries. Guam police reportedly responded to the scene at 6:37pm.
Guam police said the victim was in stable condition as of Monday morning.
Dotts believes the car was traveling at high speed, based on the damage to the vehicle and the injuries Horey sustained.
Dotts said that Horey was hit from behind.
The good news is that Horey is now in stable condition, he said.
“He did not break any bones but he is in bad shape, and the doctors do not know the full extent of his injuries yet. We are all praying he make a fast and full recovery,” the lawyer said.
Dotts said lawyers Greg Koebel and David Banes are talking to the doctors and the family daily.
Dotts used to work for many years at a law firm on Saipan with Horey, Koebel, Banes, and Robert O’Connor.
