3 NMI students graduate from OSU

Three CNMI students graduated last Saturday from Oregon State University, including Keanah F. Deleon Guerrero, who graduated with magna cum laude honors in Anthropology.

The other two were Monika H. Diaz, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, and Marquina M. Hofschneider, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

OSU held its 149th commencement last Saturday, June 16.

The commencement speaker was Harley Jessup, an Oregon State University alumnus and renowned animation production designer who has won an Academy Award and an Emmy Award for visual effects. Jessup also received an honorary doctorate from the university.

Jessup, now with Pixar Animation Studios, served as production designer for Coco, which won the Academy Award this year in the category of Best Animated Feature Film. Some of his other film credits include The Hunt for Red October, Ghostbusters II, Monsters, Inc., Ratatouille and James and the Giant Peach. (PR)
