The Marianas Visitors Authority joined tourism partners Brighten Travel (formerly Dynasty Holidays), Century Tours, and Top Development Inc. at the 2018 Shanghai World Travel Fair on May 24-27, 2018, placing the Marianas before over 50,000 visitors to the fair.

The MVA joined 230 exhibitors from 53 other countries and regions, which was also joined by 370 travel trade industry buyers, 11,925 travel trade visitors, and 43,820 members of the public, according to SWTF organizers.

In addition to have an informational booth to meet with buyers and the public, answer questions, and distribute promotional material , the MVA also offered virtual reality sightseeing of the Marianas for the first time at an exhibition in China.

“The SWTF is the second largest travel show in Shanghai and having the Marianas present at this important event is critical for brand awareness and destination familiarity,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “The Shanghai region presents enormous opportunities for the Marianas as it is considered the economic and financial center of China. We thank our partners for joining our booth this year. As the MVA strives to promote the Marianas abroad, we will continue to participate in travel trade shows and other industry forums that allow us to advertise our islands to the world.”

The Marianas also received media coverage through Concepcion’s interview with Shanghai Interactive Television Co., the largest digital cable network content integrator in China; iQIYI, one of the largest online video sites in China with over 500 million monthly active users; and trade magazines Sohu Travel and HuiZhong Travel.
