Students who are looking for help in finding money to pay for college are encouraged to attend the upcoming Cash for College workshops hosted by Northern Marianas College.

Participants will be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, CNMI Scholarship, Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance, Tinian Municipal Scholarship, Rota Municipal Scholarship, and the TEACH Grant.

Workshop participants can also have their financial aid documents notarized and photocopied, free of charge.

The Cash for College event will be held on Rota, Saipan, and Tinian on the following dates:

• June 8: Rota NMC campus, from 9am to 1pm
• June 16: Saipan, Building A, NMC As Terlaje campus, from 9am to 12pm
• June 20: Tinian NMC campus, from 9am to 1pm

Staff members from the college’s Office of Admissions and Records will be present.

Those who participate in the workshop will qualify to have their NMC application fee and placement test fees waived for the upcoming fall 2018 semester—a saving of up to $75.

It is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification, an official transcript from high school (at least three copies), copy of 2016 and 2017 1040, copy of 2016 and 2017 W-2 (if not filing), and proof of CNMI residency, including proof of continuing residency. Applicants for SHEFA should bring a valid U.S. passport or a voter registration card.
