One of the newest booths at the 20th Annual Taste of the Marianas took home the title of Best Booth.
Terry’s Snack Bar, a local food establishment, went all out to ensure that their booth was the most locally decorated and whimsical among the rest.
Terry’s Snack bar owner Terry Basa Pertudu said this was her first year to join the Taste of the Marianas and she was shocked by the news that her booth was recognized with the honor. This year’s food festival was held at the American Memorial Park.
The Terry’s Snack Bar booth was adorned with local flowers and greens, with a little waterfall by the side of the booth to tie the island theme together.
Pertudu was inspired by her own home, which is bedecked and surrounded by flowers and greens.
According to Pertudu, although others doubted her vision for her booth, she just wanted to share what her snack bar has to offer. Terry said she didn’t reserve a booth just to win the decorating competition, but considers the honor an added bonus.
Pertudo and her team intend to set up shop again at the 21st Taste of the Marianas. Pertudu’s winning includes owning the title and an automatic free booth reservation for next year’s Taste of the Marianas.
The second place winner was perennial winner D’Elegance, followed by Kanoa Resort Saipan, and finally Herman’s Modern Bakery. Each winner will be given a significant discount on their booth reservation fee if they decide to participate in next year’s Taste of the Marianas.
