Korean idol group Momoland, whose song Bboom Bboom was ranked No. 1 on Korean music charts in April, visited the Marianas this month to shoot a music video for the song and film a reality television show.

The music video for the Japanese version of Bboom Bboom was shot on Saipan and highlighted the destination’s beautiful natural scenery and locations. There were nearly 50 people involved in the film group from April 27-May 2, including nine Momoland members (Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Taeha, Nayoon, Daisy, Ahin, Jui and Nancy) and a 40-member production crew.

The music video team arrived early to develop film concepts and identify ideal production locations by visiting hotels, waterpark, Micro Beach, Pau Pau Beach, Ladder Beach, Marpi and shopping malls. They filmed the music video at the entrance and gardens of Aqua Resort Club Saipan, the waterpark at Pacific Island Club Saipan, the lobby of Imperial Pacific Resort Hotel, sunset at Micro Beach, Ladder Beach, and Managaha Island. The beautiful nature scenes on Saipan set the background and get extensive coverage in the music video, whose general concept was a treasure hunt in the forest.

“The media exposure value of Momoland’s video shoot is going to be tremendous for the Marianas. They are one of the top up-and-coming K-pop groups in Korea,” said acting MVA managing director Judy Torres. “All parties involved in the project, including the artists, expressed strong satisfaction and appreciation for the support they received from the MVA and our tourism partners. The music video film team also expressed they would like to also visit Tinian and Rota for future projects.”

The Japanese version of the music video is expected to be released in mid-June through J-pop music channels as well as social media channels including YouTube and Instagram.

The reality show “Momoland’s Beautiful Days in Saipan” episode will be released in Korea through V App Live, Naver TV, MBC Music and cable broadcasting channels. The filming involved Sea Touch and Jetovator by Let’s Go Tour, Mandi Asia Spa, T Galleria, and I Love Saipan. (MVA)
