A 22-year-old man allegedly burglarized a house in Chinatown Thursday midnight, threw a machete at a police officer, and threatened to kill the officer.

The suspect, Kition Emor, allegedly tried to run away, but police officers arrested him.

Emor was taken to Superior Court last Friday on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, assault, and disturbing the peace.

Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho on Tuesday continued the preliminary hearing to May 22 at 1:30pm after Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig moved for an appointment of a Chuukese court interpreter for Emor.

Camacho granted the motion.
