Nylon Sablan had a no-no to power the NSA Braves to a 6-0 triumph over the Cubs in the Majors division of the 2018 Saipan Little League Baseball last Sunday at Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
Sablan pitched a complete game, walked one, and struck out 11. He had a 1-2-3 in three innings and with him on the mound, no Cubs runner reached past second base. The Braves ace complemented his solid pitching with a perfect performance at the plate, as he went 3-for-3 and recorded four RBIs, two doubles, and one run.
In other results, the Falcons also shut down the Comets, 13-0, off Joey Sharry’s no-hitter.
Sharry pitched in all four innings and retired 10 batters in a flawless job on the mound. He struck out the Comets’ first three batters in the second and third inning and fanned two each in the first and fourth.
The Falcons pitcher also went 2-for-2 at bat and had an RBI in the first inning where his team collected 11 runs to take early control of the match. Catcher Noah Aguon was also 2-for-2 at the top of the first and scored two runs and two RBIs. Second baseman Achilles Evangelista delivered two RBIs, too in that pivotal inning and added three runs off his 3-for-4 performance at the plate.
