Alan Hernandez and Gloria Pagarao clinched the championship in their respective divisions in the Budweiser-sponsored PBA Classified Bowling Tournament held late last month at the Saipan Bowling Center.

Hernandez won Class B after pulling off an upset over Diana Camacho in the stepladder finals, while Pagarao took the Class C after following a victory against Lala Taitano.

Pagarao was the top finisher in the six-game qualifying roll-off after collecting 936 pinfalls and averaging 156. She automatically marched into the finals and was joined in the stepladder by Jimmy De Guzman and Taitano. De Guzman placed second in the qualifier after gaining 933 pins and averaging 155, while Taitano was ranked third with her 927 (154.50 average).

De Guzman and Taitano went on to dispute the second finals berth in the stepladder for the right to face Pagarao in the finals. Taitano then set an all-female finale in Class C after beating De Guzman, 187-178. In the finals, Taitano had to beat Pagarao twice to steal the title, but the latter finished off her opponents early after recording a 166-136 victory in Game 1.

In the Class B finals, Hernandez stunned top-ranked Diana Camacho to win the division title. Hernandez won Game 1, 157-146, to force the rubber and completed the upset with a 180-148 triumph in Game 2.

Diana Camacho made it to the finals automatically after registering a field-best 1,154 pinfalls in the six-game qualifying roll-off. Janice Camacho finished second after posting 1,106, while Hernandez rounded out the Top 3 after logging 1,010. Hernandez went on to beat Janice Camacho in the playoff game, 169-155, to set up a finals showdown against Diana.
