The Saipan Unity Lion’s Club named its first pair of Marianas Next Top Model last Sunday in a pageant at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan that also saw the contestants model trash-wear

Mazie Anne Manalang, 16, and Yads Guzman, 17, were named 2018’s Marianas Next Top Models, with Manalang dominating the women’s division and Guzman ruling the male division.

Manalang’s and Guzman’s Trash-to-Class outfits were responsible for a huge chunk of their overall score.

Manalang’s hand-made, mermaid cut, barley sack gown and Guzman’s decorative trash bag jacket won them both the Best in Trash Wear award.

According to Manalang, she designed her dress but creating it was the struggle. Her friends and family banded together and helped her bring her idea to life.
