The CNMI Department of Labor said that at least 30 businesses have confirmed their participation in a job fair.

Labor Secretary Vicky Benavente said the DOL job fair will take place on April 14, from 9am to 3pm, at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

“It’s a strong indication of the businesses’ commitment to seek and employ qualified U.S. citizens as much as they possibly can,” said Benavente, adding that DOL reached out to businesses such as construction companies, manpower agencies, hotels, restaurants, and childcare providers.

Noting that this was her first time to be at the helm of organizing the job fair, Benavente noted that main purpose of the job fair is to help CNMI residents and qualified citizens in their job hunting.

A highlight of the job fair is guest speaker Patrick G. Candoleta, who serves as the assistant district director for Guam and the CNMI at the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division.

Benavente noted that Candoleta would be speaking in the morning.
