Yap to celebrate three decades of friendship between FSM and Japan

COLONIA, Yap—Honoring 30 years of diplomatic relations between the Federated States of Micronesia and Japan will be the focus of the 9th Annual Yap Summer Homecoming Festival on June 15 and 16 in Yap.

The Living History Museum in Colonia will be the setting for the celebration that will feature traditional dances, food, handicrafts, canoe rides and children’s activities.

“We are very excited to welcome our Japanese friends as well as new visitors from Japan and around the world to celebrate our close association and thank the Japanese people and government for their partnership through the years,” said Don Evans, general manager of the Yap Visitors Bureau.
