A student from Kagman High School was chosen to join an esteemed educational organization called the National Society of High School Scholars.
On March 8, 2018 the National Society of High School Scholars chair Claes Nobel announced that they have officially accepted Kagman High School senior Nathaley C. Smith into their esteemed organization based in Atlanta, Georgia for her superior academic achievements.
The NSHSS society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community involvement.
According to Nobel, he is honored to welcome Smith into their society for her extraordinary demonstration of leadership, sacrifice, and commitment as seen in her application.
“Nathaley is now a member of a unique community of scholars … a community that represents our very best hope for the future,” he said.
Smith’s parents, Nixon and Lorenza Smith, are beyond proud of their daughter for the membership she was granted into such a prestigious organization.
“We are very proud of our daughter’s accomplishments. She has been a goal achiever since elementary school. She is currently a senior at KHS and she wants to become a school counselor,” said Lorenza.
NSHSS members automatically become lifetime members after their initial acceptance. According to NSHSS president James W. Lewis, members of the NSHSS are given the opportunity to connect with other outstanding scholars and are equipped with the needed resources to develop their strengths and pursue their passion.
“We are proud to provide lifetime membership to young scholars to support their growth and development…we aim to help students like Nathaley build on their academic success by connecting them with unique learning experiences and resources to help prepare them for college and meaningful careers,” he said.
The NSHSS society is currently comprised of a million scholars that come from 160 different countries.
