Torres signs two House bills into law

Gov. Ralph DLG Torres last week signed into law two bills from the House of Representatives.

House Bill 20-88 HD1, SD3, updates the Education Act of 1988 to accurately reflect the evolving educational system and the global economic impact on our students and our community as a whole. Authored by Rep. Edwin P. Aldan (R-Tinian), this bill becomes Public Law 20-48. 

House Bill 20-70 SD1, meanwhile, officially establishes a CNMI Veterans Cemetery account that is separate and apart from the General Fund. Authored by Rep. Lorenzo I. Deleon Guerrero (Ind-Saipan), this bill becomes Public Law 20-49. (PR)
