Marianas Ocean Ambassador Yorko Summer makes a splash

Yorko Summer, the 2018 Marianas Ocean Ambassador, is making quite a splash for this beach resort destination.
Summer was on Saipan and Tinian on March 8-19, 2018, and was accompanied by 2017 Intern to the Marianas Sherry Lin from Taiwan.
“Yorko has a great passion for protecting the marine environment and is influential in the dive community,” said MVA marketing manager Broc Calvo. “He is listed in the top 100 underwater photographers in the world, and he has been a regular speaker at major dive fairs and events.”
In addition to diving numerous sites, Summer and Lin inspected various establishments such as Surf Club, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Kensington Hotel Saipan, the scenic and historic sites of Marpi, Mt. Tapochao, various beaches, and several shopping locations. They also experienced mwar-making, Let’s Go Tour, jetovator, and dining at Naked Fish Bar & Grill, Galaxy Snack Bar, American Pizza & Grill, and Hard Rock Café Saipan.
As a part of Lin’s internship and for Summer’s further familiarization and promotion of the Marianas, the group enjoyed a one-day island tour of Tinian, escorted by MVA Tinian Field Office supervisor Vida Borja. Summer and Lin also had the opportunity to partake in the 10K course of the Saipan Marathon 2018 on March 10. The group lodged at Saipan Beach Hotel and Surfrider Resort Hotel during their stay.
