Bing Nakamura had an inside-the-park home run in the fifth and the Comets I scored four runs in the extra inning to complete a 10-6 come-from-behind win over the WPTC Chiefs in last Sunday’s Junior League division game in the 2018 Saipan Little League Baseball at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.

The Chiefs were leading at 5-2 after 4 1/2 innings when Nakamura blasted a two-RBI inside-the-park hit to move the Comets within one.

Eli Ray Castro, who had a leadoff single at the bottom of the seventh, then scored on a passed ball to give the Chiefs more distance, 6-4.

However, Nakamura countered with a leadoff walk at the top of the inning then stole second before reaching home plate on an RBI triple by Nate Aizon to cut the deficit to one anew. Aizon later tied the game when he also scored on a passed ball with one out. Next at bat was Jay Lifoifoi and he struck out, while Justin Magofna had an infield fly, sandwiching a Sneak Sumor walk, to end the seventh and send the game into an extra inning.

J.P Castro, with two outs at the top of the eighth, walked and moved to second on a Nakamura single before crossing home plate on a Reid Teregeyo RBI single to put the Comets on top. Aizon then had a two-RBI triple to bring in Nakamura and Teregeyo before Jay Lifoifoi was struck out for the second time.

Teregeyo, who came in the seventh to close out for the Comets, shut down the Chiefs at the bottom of the eighth to complete their comeback win.

Nakamura went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs, while Teregeyo batted 2-for-5 with two runs, a triple and two RBIs. Aizon had two runs, a triple, and three RBIs after going 2-for-5 at the plate.

Keoni Serrano went 5-for-6, while Jonathan Riungel pitched a complete game as the Falcons downed Comets II.
Serrano scored twice and had a two-RBI single in the Falcons’ four-run second inning. Taisei Desebei, Sandy Kani, and Adie Cabrera drove in a run each.

Riungel had 12 strikeouts and two walks, allowing only two earned runs on six hits.
