Napu Outrigger Canoe Club is asking the public’s help in identifying the person or persons who cut the rigging rope of its white canoe.

“The damage was discovered last Monday prior to afternoon practice. The rigging rope was intentionally cut on all four points,” Napu president Ponce Rasa said.

“This incident is becoming much more frequent. The previous incident happened in October last year and there were no development on this case,” he added.

The club has only four six-man canoes and it will take time to fix the rigging rope of the one that was damaged. Napu needs its equipment as its members are preparing for a couple of tournaments this year and are having regular practices every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Napu is requesting anyone who may have seen someone cutting the rigging rope to call the club or report the incident to the Department of Public Safety.
