Saipan Little League Baseball Inc. vice president A.J. Murig is thanking all the supporters of the program.

Murig told Saipan Tribune that Bridge Capital turned over a $5,000 check to SLLBI to help defray the operational costs of the league that holds games every weekend at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios and Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan ballfields.

“We are blessed with donations like the one coming from Bridge Capital. This is part of their commitment of giving back to the community. This is not the first time they gave donation to the program,” Murig told Saipan Tribune.

The $5,000 was Bridge Capital’s biggest donation so far to SLLBI. The amount was part of the company’s $26,000 donation to various private and non-profit organizations and clubs on island.

Other businesses, like McDonald’s and TanHoldings to name a few, have given cash or in-kind donations to SLLBI, while the league also received appropriation from the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation.

SLLBI will add the $5,000 to other donations they had received and will use them for trophies, uniforms for the All-Star teams that would represent Saipan in the district tournament and the CNMI in the regionals, and other expenses.

“We are forever grateful for the donation given by Bridge Capital and we also want to thank other businesses for their continued support to the Saipan Little League program, which has almost 300 youth participating this year,” said Murig. “We welcome more donations and help from the community.”
