US passport fee set to increase in April

Share

Finance Secretary Larrisa Larson advises the public that the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs will impose a $10-increase on the U.S. passport execution fee by April 2, 2018.

The $10 fee increase, however, does not apply to adults eligible to renew their passport by mail using the DS-82 form. Renewal customers can mail their application and supporting documentation to the Department of State and should not apply at a passport acceptance facility or pay an execution fee.

Larson clarifies, however, that all U.S. passport fees stay in the CNMI.

“At this time, the only acceptance agent is our Saipan U.S. Passport Office. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 11:30am and 1pm to 4pm,” Larson said.

Applicants are encouraged to visit our Saipan U.S. Passport acceptance facility regarding any questions about first-time applicants or renewals.

The U.S. Passport Office is located at Ascension Drive Building 1321 on Capital Hill or call 664-4760 for more information on this fee increase. (PR)
