Homeboyz beats Intensity 8 in Thursday League

The Amari’s IT&E Homeboyz rode on Nolan Cultura’s game-long brilliance in completing an 8-5 decision over sister team Amari’s Intenstiy 8 in last week’s action in the Budweiser-Saipan Billiards Association’s Thursday League.
Cultura was unbeaten in five matches in singles and partners events to push the Homeboyz’s record to 34-18, just one win shy of new leaders 9 Eleven 8 Black Ball, which holds a 35-17 mark to top the team standing. The Intensity 8 dropped to 19-33 record to join the VFW Assassins at the bottom of the rankings in the eight-team field.
Cultura, after winning two singles matches, paired with Cesar Sangalang and George Lizardo in three separate Partner’s 8-Ball events against the lowly Intensity 8 and had a sweep to lead Amari’s IT&E Homeboyz’s victory.
Meanwhile, the Black Ball grabbed the lead from the Homeboyz after a 9-4 win against the Sands Team SCS (24-28) in the other game, while the third-running 9 Eleven MJD Warriors (30-22) drubbed the Assassins, 11-2.
Over at the Tuesday League, the Destroyers improved to 36-16 after posting a 10-3 triumph versus the Brannon’s 670 Builders (23-29).
In other results in the division, the 9 Eleven Wild Boyz (28-24) downed the Tasha’s The Masters Touch (30-22), 10-3, while the Brannon’s Docomo Hustlers (29-23) edged the 9 Eleven Str8 Black Ball (29-23), 7-6.
