Police arrested a man who allegedly slapped another man in the face and attacked him with a machete at a home in Koblerville early Saturday morning.

Shadel Daniel, 32, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set Monday at $10,000 cash; preliminary hearing is on March 12 at 1:30pm.

According to police, the victim was with some of his friends at a home of another friend in Koblerville early Saturday morning when Daniel arrived, slapped the victim in the face, retrieved a machete from his car, and allegedly swung the machete at the victim.

Another friend intervened and told the suspect to stop. Daniel returned the machete to his car but allegedly slapped the victim again.

Daniel left the house after seeing that the house’s owner had called the police. A police officer later found the vehicle and Daniel along Bibingka Avenue in Koblerville and arrested him at 4:33am that same day. The police report did not indicate the motive behind the attack.
