MVA membership meeting on Mar. 15
The Marianas Visitors Authority will hold its semi-annual general membership meeting on Mar. 15, 2018, at Queens Club at Kensington Hotel Saipan at 9:30am. Registration will begin at 9am and the meeting will feature three guest speakers speaking on timely tourism topics.
Rick Egged is the president of the Waikīkī Improvement Association, a private, nonprofit organization focusing on stimulating the business environment of Waikīkī. Egged handles planning, legislative and community matters, working with the public and private sectors on a range of projects and improvements for Waikīkī and will speak on the history of the WIA, and offer his insight on improving the Garapan area, including recommendations on traffic flow, parking, pedestrian access, building standards and coordination between government and private stakeholders.
Jun-ichi Inada is a renowned architect and the managing director and representative partner of WIN Landscaping Planning & Design. Inada will provide an update on the Flower Islands Project of the MVA.
Project manager Mariana Coates of the CNMI-Occupational Safety and Health Administration On-site Consultation Program under the CNMI Department of Labor will explain on-site consultations conducted by its office.
The meeting cost is $25 per person for MVA members and $30 per person for non-members. The cost includes light refreshments and lunch. RSVP should be made by Mar. 12, 2018.
The MVA also welcomes new businesses, agencies and individuals who want to actively participate in the Marianas’ top industry as MVA members. Membership is $100 annually and includes detailed visitor statistics each month; opportunities to join promotional events targeting Korea, China, Japan, and other markets; the opportunity to promote products and services on the six language-specific websites of the MVA; and more.
