Tsunami Saipan swimmers leave for Tokyo meet

The eight Tsunami Swimming Center Saipan members are all set as they leave for Japan today to compete in the Tokyo Junior Sprint 2018 this weekend at the Tatsumi International Swimming Arena.
“They prepared enough for the competition and will do their very best,” said Tsunami Saipan coach Hiro Kimura, who will accompany Nanaka and Kouki Watanabe, Asaka Litulumar, Isaiah Aleksenko, Hans Xu, Ashley and Aasish Dangol, and Maria Batallones to the March 3-4 meet. Also part of the Tsunami Saipan delegation are assistant coach Sanjay Dangol and team manager Yuko Kimura.
Each Tsunami Saipan swimmers will race in two events and Hiro said his swimmers are up for the tough challenge.
“Since it is a sprint competition, the victory or defeat will be affected by just 0.01 second difference. In other words, it is a very scary race, so we practiced for that 0.01 second. We did not practice any special things, but asked the swimmers to be conscious of the details of the daily practice. I am sure that will lead to good results,” Hiro said.
The Tsunami Saipan coach added that the club’s eight swimmers will be competing in Japan for their teammates who could not make the trip.
“They are honored to represent Tsunami Saipan. More than 30 swimmers are practicing with them, as hard as they can. They will do their best for their teammates,” Hiro said.
