The Valentine’s Day poetry contest is an annual event at Tinian Elementary School, scheduled by the English Language Acquisition Committee in an effort to increase students reading and writing skills, with Mrs. Safer coordinating the event annually and she had been donating the prizes for the students.
It is the committee’s hope that allowing the students to express themselves through different medium will boost the school’s reading and writing scores. (PR)
