CHCC outpatient pharmacy now accepting Medicare

Over a month after the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. opened its new pharmacy, it is now accepting Medicare again.

In a statement, it said they now accept Medicare Part D, the Medicare prescription drug benefit, which serves as an optional service for Medicare beneficiaries.

Currently, the CHCC Pharmacy does not accept Tricare, VA, or Blue Cross Blue Shield but does accept all local insurances, including Aetna and Medicaid.

CHCC continues to expand and, according to CHCC CEO Esther Muña. Prescription orders can be placed over the phone through an automated system by calling (670) 236-8798. Orders can be placed anytime, including after the pharmacy’s business hours.

When calling the CHCC pharmacy number, patients will be prompted with the following options:

-Dial 1 – to place an order for a refill (you must have your prescription number available)

-Dial 2 – for doctors calling to authorize prescriptions

-Dial 3 – for pharmacy hours and location

-Press 4 – to confirm your prescription is ready for pick-up

-Press 0 – to speak to a member of the pharmacy staff

The CHCC Pharmacy is located on the main building of CHCC, next to the blood laboratory. The hours of operations are Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm and weekends and holidays from 8am to 5pm. (Bea Cabrera)
