A search and rescue team failed to locate a 25-year-old Korean male tourist who was swimming with three companions and was swept by a wave at Forbidden Island in Kagman this afternoon, Friday.

Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Derek Gersonde said tonight that rescue operations ceased due to light visibility and will continue tomorrow morning, Saturday.

Gersonde said the tourist was pulled by a wave out to open water.

DFEMS received the 911 call about a missing swimmer at 3:20pm.

A Navy helicopter assisted the local rescue team in the search.
