TanHoldings Football Club got win No. 2 after outclassing Southern United FC, 3-1, in their girls U16 division game in the 2018 NMIFA Spring Youth League last Saturday at Francisco M. Sablan Middle School Field.

Judy Ann Andebor powered TanHoldings to its second victory in as many games after completing a hat trick against Southern United. Andebor started her string of goals in the ninth minute, while the last two were recorded in the 16th and 40th.

TanHoldings, which defeated Paire FC in its season debut on Feb. 10, 4-1, made it back-to-back despite surrendering an early goal to Southern United. Marinel Joy Falalimpa drew first blood in the match after finding her target in the sixth minute, however her squad went cold after that, allowing TanHoldings to get the win.

With its 2-0-0 win-draw-loss record, TanHoldings took the early lead in the six-team field, while Southern United is at the bottom of the team standings with its 0-0-2 mark.

Meanwhile, MP United joined TanHoldings on top of the leaderboard after the former shut down Matansa in the other match in the division, 6-0.

Stella McCallion, who delivered four goals in MP United’s win over Southern United in the opening week, 8-3, picked up where she left off, registering four against Matansa. She got her first in the 16th minute and had two straight when she scored in the 54th and 58th.

Maury Zon Tybaco chipped in two, posting her pair of goals in the 61st and 67th minute, while Audrey Castro hit the board in the 50th, as MP United got its offense going in the second half.

MP United 7, Kanoa 0
MP United also eased its way to a season-debut victory in the boys U18 division after blanking Kanoa in the second game at the Hopwood Middle School Field.

Sunjoon Tenorio had a hat trick in his first game this season and drew enough support from his teammates to give MP United a good start. Tenorio scored in the 20th, 68th, and 69th minute. Skyler Poon, Dai Podziewski, Alex Park, and Oliver Lee added one goal each to foil Kanoa’s bid for a second win. Kanoa prevailed in its first game after downing National Development Academy, 4-1.

Matansa 5, NDA 0
Matansa handed NDA another defeat and bounced back from its 0-7 loss to TanHoldings.

Matansa and NDA played in the curtain-raiser in the division last weekend with the former drawing goals from four different players to enter the win column.

Joshua De Leon got things going for Matansa with his goal in the ninth minute, while an own goal from NDA’s miscue made it a 2-0 lead for the eventual winning squad. A shot from Joshua Malig in the 36th minute gave Matansa to a 3-0 halftime advantage, as NDA failed to counter in the first half.

NDA remained quiet in the second frame, while Jeff Seo and Brandon Delos Reyes found their mark in the 55th and 60th minute to complete Matansa’s domination of its foes.
