MYPros, or the Marianas Young Professionals, is an independent organization that aims to provide young professionals with unique opportunities for professional development, entrepreneurial endeavors, networking, mentoring, and civic engagement.
MYPros is known to host networking, professional, and must-attend events throughout the year. From organizing the Mentor a MYPro events where business, government, and nonprofit leaders in the community mentor members, to celebrating MYPros Young Professionals Week with events like the Personal Finance Mixer and Small Business Happy Hour, MYPros casts its net wide to the many issues that affect young professionals in the CNMI today.
A few other MYPros 2017 initiatives included Operation Homefront, which sent 112 care packages to island residents serving the military and deployed in various parts of the world, the 2017 March for H.E.R.S, which focused on women’s issues in the CNMI, and the Annual White Sand Gala, which recognized young professionals making a difference in the CNMI, MYPros has an event for every young adult who wants to network, grow, and thrive.
MYPros director Frank “The Crank” Camacho said: “2018 is a big year for us. With election season right around the corner, we’re hoping to empower our young professionals to discuss issues that are affecting them and their families. Through forums, debates, and other events that encourage involvement, we hope to have a strong membership base that voices their opinions. Our members are the future of the CNMI. But we still like to have fun; look out for our MYPros Diving Crew coming up here soon!”
MYPros Membership co-chair Michelle Atalig encourages employers to consider a membership for their employees an investment in their professional development.
“MYPros would like to invest our resources in your employees. From opportunities to network with other businesses and agencies to workshops that will help them gain new skills, we believe your employee is worth a MYPros membership. It’s only $30 for the year. You can’t beat a deal like that.”
