Docomo donates $3,000 to NMC Golf Tournament

Docomo Pacific recently donated $3,000 in cash and prizes that will be featured at the upcoming annual NMC Foundation Golf Tournament on Saturday, March 3, 2018. To help support Northern Marianas College and its efforts to expand higher education opportunities for CNMI residents, Docomo Pacific recently donated over $3,000 in cash and prizes to the NMC Foundation 15th Annual Golf Tournament fundraising event.

The tournament will be held on March 3, 2018, and will be the first major tournament of the year.

“NMC plays a significant role in helping to train and build local workforce capacity,” said Dino Manning, vice president/general manager of Docomo Pacific. “We are pleased to assist in the foundation’s fundraising efforts and are excited to be part of this year’s event again. We are looking forward to a great tournament at Laolao Bay.”

“In addition to their contribution, Docomo Pacific also recently donated a charging station so our students can be connected,” said NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez. “We are grateful for the company’s continuing support by donating to the foundation’s golf tournament.”

“We are extremely thankful for Docomo Pacific’s support in this year’s tournament,” said Mary Tenorio, NMC Foundation president.

The golf tournament is the NMC Foundation’s signature event that raises funds to support NMC’s academic programs and services.

The 15th Annual NMC Foundation Open golf tournament will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the west course of Saipan Laolao Bay Golf & Resort. Showtime is at 6am and the shotgun start will be at 7am. The tournament will follow a medal play format.

First place winners in the men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior, and Ladies Flights will each receive $500, while $300 and $200 will go to the second and third place finishers, respectively.

Hole-in-one prizes include a Tacoma Toyota Pre-Runner from Atkins Kroll, a Honda HR-V from Joeten Motors, $10,000 in cash from Marianas Insurance Co., and $5,000 in cash from Pacifica Insurance. The tournament will also feature many other items as raffle prizes like smartphones, hotel stays, meal gift certificates, and much more.
