UTILITY UPDATES
Water outage in Garapan
There is currently a water service interruption to all customers in Garapan from the Hotel Street Area to True Value Hardware on Beach Road and on Chalan Pale Arnold Road (Middle Road) from the 99 Cents Store to the Gualo Rai intersection.
The cause of the service interruption is due to the low water tank level of the Puerto Rico tank. Water operators of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. are currently performing an assessment of all water wells that supply water to the tank and are assessing the areas for large leaks.
CUC encourages its customers in the Garapan areas to practice water conservation measures, such as turning off water tanks when they are full and/or leaking and repairing any known water leaks on the customers’ side of the water meter.
Water service hours are as follows for the Garapan Areas:
• Lower Navy Hill to the Commonwealth Health Center Corp.: 24-hours
• Garapan from Hotel Street to True Value Hardware (Beach Road): 6am to 10am
• Garapan from the 99 Cents to the Gualo Rai intersection (Middle Road): 6am to 10am

Possible change in water pressure in Koblerville, Agingan, As Gonno and Afetnas
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will be eliminating the direct feed water wells to the Koblerville community. CUC has been working in this area to improve water pressure in the distribution system since 2012. In the final phase of this project, CUC has made some important connections so that customers in the Koblerville, Agingan, As Gonno and Afetnas areas can be properly switched to the Isley tank service area. The switching process is expected to be completed on Feb. 8, 2018.
By serving water from the Isley tank, customers will get more reliable pressure and water service hours. Customers will not see the pressure spikes overnight or during low demand periods, resulting in a much more consistent system. Customers will continue to receive 24-hour water after the switch is completed.
