Saipan football fans would like to see the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady get ring No. 6, but they would also love to watch the underdogs Philadelphia Eagles pull off an upset against one of the greatest teams in NFL.
The Patriots and Eagles will meet on Monday (Saipan time) at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for Super Bowl LII and three days before the highly anticipated action at the gridiron, Saipan football fans pick the team they think will hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The Eagles have the best defense the Patriots will face all season. They [Patriots] barely got by Jacksonville. Wait till they crash against the Eagles’ defense. I believe this is the year for the Eagles. And come on, if you’re rooting for New England, this is the first time you’ve rooted for any team this year. You’re just jumping on the bandwagon and looking for a place to party. Tom Brady needs a sixth ring? Come on now, you only have five fingers in one hand and we don’t need to pimp that ride anymore, hahaha!
Jenni Aguon, Eagles fan
The New England Patriots should be able to win this one. Unless you have been living under a rock for the part of a decade and a half, it’s no secret that the Patriots have the experience and will use that to their advantage. They are certainly no strangers to the Super Bowl. Unless the Eagles can get a little of that New York Giants Super Bowl mojo, it’s going to be another win for New England. Of course, that being said, still would love to see an upset (LOL!). Either way, always fun to watch. John Blanco, Commonwealth Football League official
New England will win since they have the best quarterback in the league right now. They always find ways to be able to comeback when the team is behind. Tom Brady is looking at another championship.
Tony Rogolifoi, NMSA executive director
The game will be won in trenches. The Eagles have better offensive and defensive lines The O-line will open up holes for the running game and give Nick Foles time to pick apart the Patriots’ secondary. Brady doesn’t make many mistakes, but pressure from the Eagles’ D-line may force him into some bad throws.
Michael White, NMSA president
Eagles! I think it’s the year of the bird…lol…Last year a Falcon didn’t fly high enough so I think the Eagle can fly enough to avoid the Patriot…lol
Carl James Hocog, DPS officer
I lean towards the Patriots. They’ve been my second favorite team since 2005 when I read that Tom Brady grew up in the Bay Area, is a fellow Class of 95er, and had always wanted to be a Niner. I think this will be a close game just like in 2005 when they played in that Super Bowl. Once Tom Brady decides he’s not going to be stopped there’s not much any defense can do and we saw that with the #1 defensive Jaguars. But if Nick Foles and the Eagles can keep their foot on the Patriots’ throat and hold a lead, we might see an upset. I call it a close game, Patriots 30, Eagles 27.
Ed Arriola, Let’s Go Tours manager
New England is my team since middle school. It’s (winning the Super Bowl) never easy! Anything can happen in the game. However, the Pats have very strong composure during big games.
Francis Mendiola, Koblerville Elementary School teacher
After so many years of the Bills sitting at home in the off-season, I’ve come to appreciate the value of a competitive game. This year, I’d like to see the Patriots win because we’re watching the greatest team and the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. I’d still be happy for the Eagles if they win because cornerback Ronald Darby played with the Bills last year.
