The Northern Marianas Bodybuilding & Physique Federation is inviting all bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts to sign up for their event in March.

NMBPF president John Davis, who earned his international judge license last year, said they would be holding the 4th Marianas Muscle on March 24 at 2pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multiprpose Center in Susupe.

The entry fee is $10 for NMBPF members, while $15 for non-members. The admission ticket is also $10. The competition will feature men’s and women’s bodybuilding and physique and will be divided into the junior (under 18), senior (19 to 40 years old), and masters (over 41) categories. The women’s junior division will have model physique. Entry forms and fees must be submitted and paid on or before March 17.

Meanwhile, Davis, who is also the president of the CNMI Weightlifting Federation, is reminding interested weightlifters to join the CNMI Weightlifting’s Micronesian Games qualifying event on Feb. 17 at the Latte Built 24-Hour Fitness and Nutrition Center.

The 2018 Micro Games, the ninth edition to be hosted by Yap State for the first time, is set from July 15 to 28 at the 2,000-seater Yap Sports Complex in Colonia.

The one-day qualifier is open to athletes 13 years old and up. No awards or medals will be given away as only slots for the CNMI national weightlifting team will be up for grabs.

The qualifying tournament will start with the weigh-ins at 10am, while the actual competition in each weight category begins after 30 minutes.

Members of Latte Built Gym, owned by fitness instructor Derek Cutting, are free to join while non-members will be charged a $1 fee just to compete. Registration forms are available at Latte Built or can be obtained by getting in touch with any CNMI Weightlifting board member.
