To entice more Taiwanese visitors to the Marianas, the Marianas Visitors Authority hosted a familiarization tour on Jan. 8-11, 2018, for Hong Kong Airlines and representatives of the Taiwan travel trade industry.

The 13-member tour group, led by PR & Marketing manager Steven Cheng of the MVA’s Taiwan office, inspected eight hotels during their brief visit, including Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Kanoa Resort, Saipan Beach Hotel, Surfrider Resort Hotel, Aqua Resort Club, Kensington Hotel, and Grandvrio Resort, where they lodged during their visit.

The group also took a UTV tour to Mt. Tapochao, inspected and had a welcome dinner at Imperial Pacific Resort, and had a SeaTouch marine animal encounter.

They dined at Hyatt’s Kili Café, Surf Club Saipan, Salty’s Bar & Grill, and aboard the Jade Lady sunset dinner cruise.

The agents also visited Mariana Lounge before their departure to Taiwan.

“The agents had a wonderful snorkeling experience in the crystal-clear ocean at Managaha, along with other activities,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “The members in the group were reportedly all very happy about the trip. They expressed that they thought the activities are safe and fun, the people here are friendly and helpful, the weather is nice and comfortable, and the sites are clean and beautiful.”

Participants represented Hong Kong Airlines, EZ Travel, Lion Travel, Cola Tour, South East Travel, Expedia, Star Travel, Travel Rich magazine, Xin Media Report, Travel New Age, and more. (MVA)
