The inflight magazine of Delta Air Lines in Japan, called Sky, has placed The Marianas on the cover of its January-February issue and includes an 11-page, full color feature story on Saipan.
In conjunction with the extensive coverage, the Marianas Visitors Authority launched a Marianas promotion on Jan. 16 at the Delta Sky Club lounge at the Narita International Airport in Tokyo.
The one-month promotion features images and videos of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, as well as displays and sampling by Saipan Brewing Co. and Marianas Coffee.
“This is the first time ever for the Marianas to be featured at the Delta Sky Club in Tokyo-Narita. The brand exposure our destination [will] receive from this is enormous,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “We’re featuring stunning new images from our Marianas 30 Treasures campaign launched in Japan last year with updated visuals from Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. The Sky Club is frequented by travelers from all over the globe, so our reach is beyond just Japan.
“Importantly, coffee and beer are two of the most popular beverages consumed at the Sky Club, so featuring beer created by Saipan Brewing and coffee grown by Marianas Coffee brings added exposure for products locally made in the CNMI,” Concepcion added. “We congratulate Saipan Brewing and Marianas Coffee for being featured in such a prominent venue.”
About 600 business class passengers, Delta SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion members, Sky Team elite members, and premier card members use the Tokyo-Narita Sky Club Lounge daily.
Sky magazine reaches over 800,000 readers with its bi-monthly issue circulated aboard Delta Air Lines flights in Japan and to travel trade representatives.
