The Parent Education Services under the Division of Youth Services hosted a Common Sense Parenting workshop for Green Meadow School teachers, staff, and parents for six Tuesdays, from Nov. 6 to Dec. 19, 2017, in Chalan Piao.
Participants were awarded with certificates of attendance at their final day last Dec. 19, 2017. The certificates were presented by Maria Olopai, DYS-Common Sense Parenting parent trainer, and Junnie Masga, Parent Education Program assistant coordinator.
Milagros Songcuan, GMS president and principal, expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation of everyone present.
Many of the participants were grateful to Olopai’s patience in answering all their questions.
“She was very jolly and very accommodating. We enjoyed the workshop very much, “ said one of the parents.
“We are very thankful to DYS for coming up with this kind of workshop. …Parents will greatly benefit from this,” said Norlyn Cabrera, another parent.
This Common Sense Parenting workshop served as a refresher course, focusing on techniques and strategies in disciplining children. (PR)
