The Marianas Visitors Authority is updating its photographs and videos of the Marianas with the help of professional models and photographers, including former National Geographic photographer Jihwan Bae.
Bae, known in South Korea for his advertisement projects with brands including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Sony, led the group during their tour of Saipan, Rota, and Tinian in December 2017.
“The goal of this high-quality imagery content production project is to position the Marianas as the most ideal travel destination for Korean travelers,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “Overall, the project crew expressed great satisfaction and appreciation for the opportunity to capture the beautiful scenery of our islands.”
The project will also develop digital maps for recommended Instagrammable locations. The photographer crew visited major attraction, including Grotto, Banzai Cliff, and Bird Island on Saipan; Broadway, Ushi Cross Point, Blow Hole, and Taga Beach on Tinian; and Swimming Hole, Bird Sanctuary, As Matmos, Teteto Beach, and Song Song Village Lookout on Rota. The crew conducted stargazing and night scene photo shoots to capture the clarity of night skies of the Marianas, and restaurants and stores registered as MVA members were also included.
“It was great honor for the whole crew members to experience and capture the untouched yet the most picturesque Marianas through their cameras,” said Bae. “We are all very grateful for everyone’s hospitality during our stay.”
The newly produced imagery contents will be used and shared with Korean travel trade partners, media and others. Pacific Palm Resort Saipan also supported the familiarization tour. (MVA)
