Sector Guam worked with Guam EPA and the Inarajan Mayor’s Office to mitigate any environmental damage and ensure the vehicle could be removed safely.

Sector Guam initiated the funding for contractors to remove the threat of pollution from the waterway. Contracted companies placed oil absorbent barriers around the vehicle as commercial divers prepared the vehicle for removal.

The vehicle was safely removed from the water on Jan. 8 and towed away for recycling.
The unified efforts of the multiple agencies involved ensured a timely and seamless removal process of the vehicle, reducing environmental damage. (PR)
