Police have arrested the 18-year-old male who accidentally fired a pistol wounding himself and his 20-year-old brother early Thursday morning on the way to Twins Super Market in Dandan.

As a result of the investigation conducted by Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation detectives, police have arrested Kody Omengkar at 4:04pm today, Friday, without incident in San Roque. He now faces criminal charges of aggravated assault and battery and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan, who granted the arrest warrant on Omengkar, set his bail at $15,000.

Police said Omengkar’s brother remains at the Commonwealth Health Center in stable condition. DPS, however, has yet to name Omengkar’s sister, who owns the Hyundai Tucson the brothers were riding with a third brother on the wheel. Police initially said that the police woman who left her service pistol, a Glock 22, was no longer with DPS.
