Green Meadow School’s talent and teamwork were in full display as the Falcons participated in the various activities at the Christmas in the Marianas.

GMS students and teachers showcased their creativity in designing a Christmas tree. They created ornaments out of recycled materials, which were collected through a recycling drive launched in the school.

“We’re very thankful to the parents of our students for their support in the recycling drive. Parents collected materials from their homes and offices and brought them to GMS so that our students could work on the Christmas ornaments,” GMS principal Milagros Songcuan said.

GMS went on to win third place at the Christmas tree decoration contest.

“This win is the fruit of labor of our innovative students and hardworking staff and teachers. Credit also goes to the parents for sharing their ideas on how to make the tree beautiful,” Songcuan added. “Overall, our Christmas tree is a product of the GMS family’s combined efforts, cooperation, and creativity.

The Falcons also joined the Christmas caroling contest both in the elementary and middle school divisions and fielded three entries at the Christmas in the Marianas’ logo-making competition. GMS placed second in the middle school Christmas caroling competition and fourth in the elementary, while the entry of Chris Vecina topped the logo-making contest. The Falcons also had 10 students joining a Christmas fashion show featuring recycled materials.

“Once again, our students showed their talents in singing and playing musical instruments during the Christmas caroling contest. The management and staff of GMS commend them for the time and work they put into their practice sessions just to make sure they will perform well at the competition,” the GMS principal said.

“We would also like to acknowledge the students’ parents for supporting and encouraging their children. No matter how busy these parents are, they always find time to drop their children off to practices and watch the students’ performances. Their support gave our students more confidence as they perform and delighted a huge crowd at the Paseo de Marianas,” Songcuan added. (PR)
